With all that is going on in the world, it is good to know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves, cares,  and wants the best for us. Jesus’ life, death, burial, and resurrection shows His love, grace, and mercy towards us. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Hebrew 2:17 says, “Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”

For this reason, was the son of God made manifest to destroy the works of the enemy. I am so grateful for Jesus’ sacrifice. We may have earthly parents who love us, but they would never do all the things that Jesus did for us on the Cross of Calvary. For a long time, I made up a million excuses not to get saved or give my life to Jesus. I thought the good life was hanging out in the strip clubs, smoking, drinking, partying, and dating all types of men. I was looking for love in all the wrong places. Maybe you can relate to my story.

Mary Magdalene was dating a married man or committing adultery. We can read more about her in Luke 8.

Luke 8:2 says, “And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, Mary Of Magdalene is one of many women whom Jesus Healed and follow His ministry.”

When she came to Jesus, she was possessed by seven demons and brokenhearted. She was also struggling with the lust of the eyes and pride of life. She heard of a man who was healing the sick and setting the captive free. Mary knew she had to get right with God after being caught in a sexual act, and the people wanted to stone her. Jesus came to her rescue, wrote on the ground, and said anyone without sin cast the first stone. No one could honestly say they were without sin.

Matthew 15:19 says, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:”

Romans 3:10 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

1 John 1:8 says, “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.”

Knowing all that Jesus had done to restore, redeem, and heal Mary Magdalene’s life is truly a miracle. The love of Jesus is the real reason that we should get God and have Him in our lives. We need Jesus as our Lord and personal Savior.

God’s power is always at work. God spoke to one of His Minor Prophets, Hosea. He tells Hosea to marry Gomer, a prostitute. The Book of Hosea shows Israel’s disobedience and division of the northern Kingdom and their adulteress acts. They worshiped Baal, one of the pagan deities.

Hosea’s marriage to Gomer is a metaphor for the marriage that we have with Jesus Christ. He compares us to being like an adulterous bride to the bridegroom. Hosea is told to take back his unfaithful wife. Throughout the Book of Hosea, God is apprehending them, calling for them to repent, and forgiving them so He could bring them back to reconciliation to Himself.

God, who is also called Yahweh, speaks to Israel about their backsliding ways. Gomer’s behavior served as an illustration of infidelity to God. In other words, this is how the Israelites were acting towards God. They refused to worship Him, but worshipped other gods like Baal, a Canaanite god. Also, they committed a lot of wickedness such as homicide, perjury, stealing, and sexual sins.

Prophet Hosea told Israel to repent because the kingdom of heaven is at hand. There are important choices that we must make throughout our lives. Prophet Hosea’s message must have sounded like this, “Come on Judah, God is warning you to repent. Come on children of Israel, your idolatry is being judged if you don’t turn from your wicked ways. God will allow the Assyrian nation to be destroyed and be taken into captivity.”

As I reflect on the symbolic relationship of Israel to Hosea and Gomer’s marriage, I hear these words, “Get God and get your life in order.” Allow this message to penetrate your heart and encourage you. It does not matter what you did or gone through, God still loves you unconditionally.

Matthew 11:29-30 says, “ 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

May God’s Word continue to bless and encourage you along your journey. May the grace of God keep you. May He shine His face upon you. May you always be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and have dominion. We are created to bring pleasure to His heart and fame to His name.
